  573. Wed Mar 1 23:47:05 CET 2017
  574. Minor internal optimisations.
  575. Changed closure connection monitoring logic: now all connections are
  576. monitored for OOB data (which treated as error), connections are not
  577. monitored any more for incoming data if incoming data is not required for
  578. processing. except_fd_set is not optional now for MHD_get_fdset(),
  579. MHD_get_fdset2() and MHD_run_from_select().
  580. Improved connection processing in epoll mode: now connection can process
  581. both read and write each turn.
  582. Updated HTTP response codes; updated and added all missing standard HTTP
  583. headers names (and headers categories); updated and added all missing
  584. standard and additional HTTP methods. Now MHD return status
  585. MHD_HTTP_REQUEST_HEADER_FIELDS_TOO_LARGE (431) instead of old
  586. MHD_HTTP_REQUEST_ENTITY_TOO_LARGE (413) for very long header.
  587. Reworked handling of data pending in TLS buffers, resolved busy-waiting
  588. if incoming data is pending in TLS buffers and connection is in
  589. LOOP_INFO_WRITE mode.
  590. Do not clear 'ready' flag in epoll mode if send()/recv() result is
  591. EINTERRUPTED.
  592. Better detection of unready connection state: used less number of calls of

  615. modes.
  616. Fixed processing of incoming TLS data in epoll mode if more than 128
  617. connections are active.
  618. Fixed accepting more than 128 incoming connection in epoll mode.
  619. Improved test_large_put, added poll() and epoll testing.
  620. Added test_large_put_inc for testing of incremental buffer processing.
  621. Rewritten epoll connection processing logic: handle all connection one
  622. time per turn instead of trying to handle all active connection until all
  623. pending data is dried. Result is more uniform connection processing
  624. period. -EG
  625. Wed Nov 23 15:24:10 MSK 2016
  626. Used SO_REUSEADDR (on non-W32) alongside with SO_REUSEPORT if option

  639. on Linux kernels before 3.9 (longterm 3.2 and 3.4
  640. are still supported). -EG
  641. Sun Nov 13 19:16:38 CET 2016
  642. Fixed a few race issues on suspend-resume in cases where the
  643. application uses threads even though MHD did not (or at least
  644. had no internal need for locking). Also fixed DLL handling of
  645. the timeout list, avoiding manipulating it for suspended
  646. connections. Finally, eliminated calling application logic
  647. on suspended connections (which before could happen under
  648. certain circumstances). -CG
  649. Thu Nov 11 20:49:23 MSK 2016
  650. Added support for various forms of
  651. pthread_attr_setname_np() so thread names will be set
  652. more efficiently on certain platforms (Solaris, NetBSD etc.) -EG
  653. Thu Nov 10 21:50:35 MSK 2016
  654. Added rejection in MHD_start_daemon() of invalid combinations
  655. of daemon flags.
  656. Added MHD_USE_AUTO and MHD_USE_AUTO_INTERNAL_THREAD for
  657. automatic selection of polling function depending on
  658. platform capabilities and requested mode. -EG
  659. Thu Nov 10 17:49:56 MSK 2016

  669. Responses destroyed (freed) earlier if possible.
  670. Added many remarks in code comments about thread safety.
  671. Some data races and other multithread-related issues are fixed,
  672. including usage of closed sockets (may resulted in accidental closing
  673. of wrong socket).
  674. SO_NOSIGPIPE is used on all platform which support it, not only
  675. on Darwin.
  676. Added support for suspending connections in thread-per-connection
  677. mode (itself almost useless, mostly to unify modes support).
  678. Fixed Inter-Thread Communication channel usage in epoll modes.

  680. are freed only by specific threads, data races and other fixes.
  681. Started usage of C99 standard 'bool' where supported with
  682. fallback to 'int'.
  683. Renamed many MHD flags. Now they are self-explainable and more
  684. obvious, like MHD_USE_INTERNAL_POLLING_THREAD instead of
  685. MHD_USE_SELECT_INTERNALLY. Old flag names are supported for
  686. backward compatibility.
  687. Improved processing of "fast" connections: now full sequence
  688. "read request - send reply headers - send reply body" is processed
  689. after single select()/poll(). If connection is slow, request is huge
  690. or response in not immediately ready - connection will be processed
  691. in "traditional" way.
  692. Added usage of "calloc()" where supported.
  693. Minor documentation fixes.
  694. Minor improvements and fixes. -EG
  695. "Upgrade" test fixes.

  708. of communications.
  709. Optimizations: ITCs now always created in non-blocking mode.
  710. Added configure parameter to choose ITC type.
  711. Updated documentation and comments.

  749. Internal refactoring: W32 compatibility layer was finally
  750. replaced with several specialized abstraction layers for

  753. (including threads and mutex) are implemented in thin
  754. abstraction layers.

1250. Removed dependency on plibc for simpler compilation for W32.
1251. Added configure option "--disable-pipes" to use socketpairs
1252. instead of pipes for signalling to child threads. Pipes are
  1253. always disabled on W32.
  1254. Some code refactoring. -EG

1258. MHD_USE_DUAL_STACK in libmicrohttpd currently just *inhibits
1259. setting* the IPV6_V6ONLY socket option, but per Microsoft's
1260. documentation the default on Windows is that this is enabled, thus
1261. MHD_USE_DUAL_STACK will not work (since it leaves the
1262. default). libmicrohttpd should probably just unconditionally set
1263. IPV6_V6ONLY to the desired value when the option is available. -LJ
  1264. Wed Jan 1 21:38:18 CET 2014

  1289. Tue Dec 3 21:05:38 CET 2013
1290. Signaling n times for shutdown works, but for resume we need to
1291. wake up the correct daemon. Even if we signal n times in that
1292. case also, there's no guarantee that some daemon can't run
1293. through its select loop more than once before the daemon we want
1294. to wake up gets a chance to read. Thus we need a signal pipe
1295. per thread in the thread pool IF MHD_suspend_connection is used.
1296. This introduces a new flag MHD_USE_SUSPEND_RESUME to add those
1297. additional pipes and only allow MHD_suspend_connection to be
1298. used in conjunction with this flag.
1299. Also, as MHD_resume_connection() will be called on a non-daemon
1300. thread, but none of the queue insert/delete calls are thread safe,
1301. we need to be concerned about (a) corrupting the queue, and (b)
1302. having to add mutex protection around every access to the queues,
1303. including loops through timer queues, etc. This wasn't a problem
1304. before adding resume; even suspend should be safe since it happens
1305. in a callback from the daemon.
  1306. I think it's easier to (a) have MHD_suspend_connection() move the
  1307. connection to a suspended queue, (b) have MHD_resume_connection()
1308. mark the connection as resuming, and then (c) do all the actual
1309. queue manipulations in MHD_select (poll, epoll, etc.) to move the
1310. resumed connections back to their normal queues, in response to
1311. the wake up. The changes are simpler & cleaner. There is a cost to
1312. the basic select loop that is avoided by making suspend/resume a
1313. startup option. The per-worker pipes can then also be enabled only
1314. with that option set. -MH

  1441. 'MHD_quiesce_daemon' with thread pools and per-connection
1442. threads (we then need a pipe for shutdown, but if
1443. 'MHD_quiesce_daemon' is not used, we do not want to
1444. require the use of a pipe; introducing the pipe after
1445. the threads have been started can also fail, so the
1446. application needs to tell us early on). -CG
  1447. Sat Jun 22 20:24:17 CEST 2013
1448. Removed locking calls for thread modes that do not need them.
1449. Reorganized way to obtain connection's event loop state.
1450. Added sorted XDLL for connections with default timeout to

  1483. Performance improvements, updated documentation.
1484. Make better use of available memory pool memory for

1486. improve post processor speed by internally adjusting the
1487. buffer size by 4 bytes to ensure "round" IO sizes given
1488. a "round" post processor buffer size argument. Note
1489. that applications that previously added 4 bytes to the
1490. post processor buffer size might now perform worse.
1491. Using the new 'demo' example, POST upload speed
  1492. increased from ~90 MB/s to ~120 MB/s for a large file
1493. (note that the improvement comes from better aligned
1494. disk IO; without disk IO, the speed was (and remains)

1926. connection handling error (for example, after getting a SIGPIPE). -CG
  1927. Tue Aug 24 11:39:25 CEST 2010
1928. Fixed bug in handling EAGAIN from GnuTLS (caused
1929. needlessly dropped SSL connections). -CG

1931. Initial draft for digest authentication. -AA
  1932. Thu Aug 19 14:15:01 CEST 2010
  1933. Changed code to enable error messages and HTTPS by default;

1936. for embedded systems that require minimal footprint). -CG
  1937. Thu Aug 19 13:26:00 CEST 2010
1938. Patches for Windows to ease compilation trouble. -GT/CG

1959. Cleaned up example code. -CG
  1960. Fri Apr 23 09:56:37 CEST 2010
1961. Do not return HTTP headers for requests without version
1962. numbers. Do return HTTP version 1.0 if client requested
1963. HTTP version 1.1 (previously, we returned HTTP/1.1 even
  1964. if the client specified HTTP/1.0). -GM/CG
  1965. Sat Mar 13 09:41:01 CET 2010

2000. Fixing (rare) deadlock due to SELECT missing SIGALRM by
2001. making all SELECT calls block for at most 1s. While this
2002. can in (rare) situations delay the shutdown by 1s, I think
2003. this is preferable (both performance and possibly portability-wise)
2004. over using a pipe for the signal. -CG
  2005. Sun Oct 11 14:57:29 CEST 2009
2006. Adding eCos license as an additional license for the
2007. non-HTTPS code of MHD. -CG

2026. Fixing double-call to read from content-reader callback for first
2027. data segment (as reported by Alex on the mailinglist). -CG
  2028. Thu Jul 29 21:41:52 CEST 2009
2029. Fixed issue with the code not using the "block_size" argument

  2035. Fri May 15 11:00:20 MDT 2009
2036. Grow reserved read buffer more aggressively so that we are not
2037. needlessly stuck reading only a handfull of bytes in each iteration. -CG
  2038. Thu May 14 21:20:30 MDT 2009
2039. Fixed issue where the "NOTIFY_COMPLETED" handler could be called
2040. twice (if a socket error or timeout occured for a pipelined
2041. connection after successfully completing a request and before
2042. the next request was successfully transmitted). This could
2043. confuse applications not expecting to see a connection "complete"
2044. that they were never aware of in the first place. -CG
  2045. Mon May 11 13:01:16 MDT 2009
2046. Fixed issue where error code on timeout was "TERMINATED_WITH_ERROR"

2056. (see select man page under bugs). -CG
  2057. Tue Mar 17 01:19:50 MDT 2009
  2058. Added support for thread-pools. -CG/RA
  2059. Mon Mar 2 23:44:08 MST 2009
2060. Fixed problem with 64-bit upload and download sizes and
2061. "-1" being used to indicate "unknown" by introducing
  2062. new 64-bit constant "MHD_SIZE_UNKNOWN". -CG/DC
  2063. Wed Feb 18 08:13:56 MST 2009
  2064. Added missing #include for build on arm-linux-uclibc. -CG/CC
  2065. Mon Feb 16 21:12:21 MST 2009

  2069. Releasing libmicrohttpd 0.4.0. -CG
  2070. Thu Feb 5 22:43:45 MST 2009
2071. Incompatible API change to allow 64-bit uploads and downloads.
2072. Clients must use "uint64_t" for the "pos"
2073. argument (MHD_ContentReaderCallback) and the "off"
2074. argument (MHD_PostDataIterator) and the "size"
  2075. argument (MHD_create_response_from_callback) now.
2076. Also, "unsigned int" was changed to "size_t" for
  2077. the "upload_data_size" argument (MHD_AccessHandlerCallback),
  2078. the argument to MHD_OPTION_CONNECTION_MEMORY_LIMIT,
  2079. the "block_size" argument (MHD_create_response_from_callback),
  2080. the "buffer_size" argument (MHD_create_post_processor) and
  2081. the "post_data_len" argument (MHD_post_process). You may
2082. need to #include <stdint.h> before <microhttpd.h> from now on. -CG
  2083. Thu Feb 5 20:21:08 MST 2009
2084. Allow getting address information about the connecting
2085. client after the accept call. -CG

  2091. when post-processing HTTP POST requests (Mantis #1443). -CG/SN
  2092. Fri Dec 26 23:08:04 MST 2008
2093. Fixed broken check for identical connection address. -CG
2094. Making cookie parser more RFC2109 compliant (handle
2095. spaces around key, allow value to be optional). -CG
  2096. Sat Dec 6 18:36:17 MST 2008
2097. Added configure option to disable checking for CURL support.
2098. Added MHD_OPTION to allow specification of custom logger. -CG
  2099. Tue Nov 18 01:19:53 MST 2008
2100. Removed support for untested and/or broken SSL features
2101. and (largely useless) options. -CG
  2102. Sun Nov 16 16:54:54 MST 2008
2103. Added option to get unparsed URI via callback.

  2109. Sat Nov 15 00:31:33 MST 2008
2110. Removing (broken) support for HTTPS servers with
2111. anonymous (aka "no") certificates as well as
2112. various useless dead code. -CG
  2113. Sat Nov 8 02:18:42 MST 2008
2114. Unset TCP_CORK at the end of transmitting a response
2115. to improve performance (on systems where this is
  2116. supported). -MM
  2117. Tue Sep 30 16:48:08 MDT 2008
2118. Make MHD useful to Cygwin users; detect IPv6 headers
  2119. in configure.
  2120. Sun Sep 28 14:57:46 MDT 2008
2121. Unescape URIs (convert "%ef%e4%45" to "$BCf9q(B"). -CG
  2122. Wed Sep 10 22:43:59 MDT 2008
2123. Releasing GNU libmicrohttpd 0.4.0pre0. -CG
  2124. Wed Sep 10 21:36:06 MDT 2008
2125. Fixed data race on closing sockets during
2126. shutdown (in one-thread-per-connection mode). -CG
  2127. Thu Sep 4 23:37:18 MDT 2008
2128. Fixed some boundary issues with processing
2129. chunked requests; removed memmove from a
2130. number of spots, in favor of using an index into
2131. the current buffer instead. -GS
  2132. Sun Aug 24 13:05:41 MDT 2008
2133. Now handling clients returning 0 from response callback
2134. as specified in the documentation (abort if internal
2135. select is used, retry immediately if a thread per
  2136. connection is used). -CG
  2137. Sun Aug 24 12:44:43 MDT 2008
2138. Added missing reason phrase. -SG
  2139. Sun Aug 24 10:33:22 MDT 2008
2140. Fixed bug where MHD failed to transmit the response when
2141. the client decided not to send "100 CONTINUE" during
  2142. a PUT/POST request. -CG
  2143. Wed Jul 16 18:54:03 MDT 2008
2144. Fixed bug generating chunked responses with chunk sizes
2145. greater than 0xFFFFFF (would cause protocol violations). -CG
  2146. Mon May 26 13:28:57 MDT 2008
  2147. Updated and improved documentation.
2148. Releasing GNU libmicrohttpd 0.3.1. -CG
  2149. Fri May 23 16:54:41 MDT 2008

  2154. Sun Apr 13 01:06:20 MDT 2008
2155. Releasing GNU libmicrohttpd 0.3.0. -CG
  2156. Sat Apr 12 21:34:26 MDT 2008
2157. Generate an internal server error if the programmer fails
2158. to handle upload data correctly. Tweaked testcases to
2159. avoid running into the problem in the testcases.
2160. Completed zzuf-based fuzzing testcases. -CG
  2161. Sat Apr 12 15:14:05 MDT 2008
2162. Restructured the code (curl-testcases and zzuf testcases
2163. are now in different directories; code examples are in
  2164. src/examples/).
2165. Fixed a problem (introduced in 0.2.3) with handling very
2166. large requests (the code did not return proper error code).
2167. If "--enable-messages" is specified, the code now includes
2168. reasonable default HTML webpages for various build-in
2169. errors (such as request too large and malformed requests).
2170. Without that flag, the webpages returned will still be
  2171. empty.
2172. Started to add zzuf-based fuzzing-testcases (these require
2173. the zzuf and socat binaries to be installed). -CG
  2174. Fri Apr 11 20:20:34 MDT 2008
2175. I hereby dub libmicrohttpd a GNU package. -Richard Stallman
  2176. Sat Mar 29 22:36:09 MDT 2008
2177. Fixed bugs in handling of malformed HTTP requests
2178. (causing either NULL dereferences or connections to
2179. persist until time-out, if any). -CG
2180. Updated and integrated TexInfo documentation. -CG
  2181. Tue Mar 25 13:40:53 MDT 2008
2182. Prevent multi-part post-processor from going to error
2183. state when the input buffer is full and current token
2184. just changes processor state without consuming any data.
2185. Also, the original implementation would not consume any
2186. input in process_value_to_boundary if there is no new
2187. line character in sight. -AS
2188. Remove checks for request method after it finished writing
2189. response footers as it's only _pipelined_ requests that
2190. should not be allowed after POST or PUT requests. Reusing
2191. the existing connection is perfectly ok though. And there
2192. is no reliable way to detect pipelining on server side
2193. anyway so it is the client's responsibility to not send new
2194. data before it gets a response after a POST operation. -AS
2195. Clarified license in man page. Releasing
  2196. libmicrohttpd 0.2.3 -CG
  2197. Sat Mar 22 01:12:38 MDT 2008
  2198. Releasing libmicrohttpd 0.2.2. -CG
  2199. Mon Feb 25 19:13:53 MST 2008
2200. Fixed a problem with sockets closed for reading ending up
2201. in the read set under certain circumstances. -CG
  2202. Wed Jan 30 23:15:44 MST 2008
2203. Added support for nested multiparts to post processor.
2204. Made sure that MHD does not allow pipelining for methods
2205. other than HEAD and GET (and of course still also only
2206. allows it for http 1.1). Releasing libmicrohttpd 0.2.1. -CG
  2207. Mon Jan 21 11:59:46 MST 2008
2208. Added option to limit number of concurrent connections
2209. accepted from the same IP address. -CG
  2210. Fri Jan 4 16:02:08 MST 2008
2211. Fix to properly close connection if application signals
2212. problem handling the request. - AS
  2213. Wed Jan 2 16:41:05 MST 2008
2214. Improvements and bugfixes to post processor implementation. - AS
  2215. Wed Dec 19 21:12:04 MST 2007
2216. Implemented chunked (HTTP 1.1) downloads (including
2217. sending of HTTP footers). Also allowed queuing of
2218. a response early to suppress the otherwise automatic
2219. "100 CONTINUE" response. Removed the mostly useless
2220. "(un)register handler" methods from the API. Changed
2221. the internal implementation to use a finite state
2222. machine (cleaner code, slightly less memory consumption).
  2223. Releasing libmicrohttpd 0.2.0. - CG
  2224. Sun Dec 16 03:24:13 MST 2007
2225. Implemented handling of chunked (HTTP 1.1) uploads.
2226. Note that the upload callback must be able to
2227. process chunks in the size uploaded by the client,
2228. MHD will not "join" small chunks into a big
2229. contiguous block of memory (even if buffer space
2230. would be available). - CG
  2231. Wed Dec 5 21:39:35 MST 2007
2232. Fixed race in multi-threaded server mode.
2233. Fixed handling of POST data when receiving a
  2234. "Connection: close" header (#1296).
  2235. Releasing libmicrohttpd 0.1.2. - CG
  2236. Sat Nov 17 00:55:24 MST 2007
2237. Fixed off-by-one in error message string matching.
2238. Added code to avoid generating SIGPIPE on platforms
2239. where this is possible (everywhere else, the main
2240. application should install a handler for SIGPIPE).
  2241. Thu Oct 11 11:02:06 MDT 2007
  2242. Releasing libmicrohttpd 0.1.1. - CG
  2243. Thu Oct 11 10:09:12 MDT 2007
2244. Fixing response to include HTTP status message. - EG
  2245. Thu Sep 27 10:19:46 MDT 2007
2246. Fixing parsing of "%xx" in URLs with GET arguments. - eglaysher
  2247. Sun Sep 9 14:32:23 MDT 2007
  2248. Added option to compile debug/warning messages;
2249. error messages are now disabled by default.
2250. Modified linker option for GNU LD to not export
2251. non-public symbols (further reduces binary size).
  2252. Releasing libmicrohttpd 0.1.0. - CG
  2253. Sat Sep 8 21:54:04 MDT 2007
2254. Extended API to allow for incremental POST
2255. processing. The new API is binary-compatible
2256. as long as the app does not handle POSTs, but
2257. since that maybe the case, we're strictly speaking
2258. breaking backwards compatibility (since url-encoded
2259. POST data is no longer obtained the same way). - CG
  2260. Thu Aug 30 00:59:24 MDT 2007
2261. Improving API to allow clients to associate state
2262. with a connection and to be notified about request
  2263. termination (this is a binary-compatible change). - CG
2264. Fixed compile errors under OS X. - HL
  2265. Sun Aug 26 03:11:46 MDT 2007
2266. Added MHD_USE_PEDANTIC_CHECKS option which enforces
2267. receiving a "Host:" header in HTTP 1.1 (and sends a
2268. HTTP 400 status back if this is violated). - CG
  2269. Tue Aug 21 01:01:46 MDT 2007
2270. Fixing assertion failure that occured when a client
2271. closed the connection after sending some data but
2272. not the full headers. - CG
  2273. Sat Aug 18 03:06:09 MDT 2007
2274. Check for out of memory when adding headers to
2275. responses. Check for NULL key when looking
2276. for headers. If a content reader callback
2277. for a response returns zero (has no data yet),
2278. do not possibly fall into busy waiting when
2279. using external select (with internal selects
